    Food-borne illness causes 128,000 hospitalizations each year in the U.S., costing $78 billion in medical bills and lost productivity. Current methods of food safety testing are done in a lab and can take days, possibly resulting in recalls, lost time, and damage to company reputation. Even plants with internal testing capabilities still rely on detection methods that take 24-48 hours to produce results.

    The Palladium™ system is the only portable, rapid molecular diagnostic system designed to deliver laboratory-level performance for environmental microbiological testing. Currently in the pilot testing phase, the system is versatile enough to handle a range of sample types and returns results in about two hours.
